SCHOOL DAZE
The student body of a historically black college in the south of the USA appears to be divided: Dap is protesting for the university to renounce donors who support the apartheid regime in South Africa. Julian, the leader of an elite student fraternity, opposes this. Their friends Rachel and Jane also clash. In musical sequences and emotional debates, conflicts over complex questions about being black in an unequal society are unleashed, and patriarchal convictions are also ruthlessly exposed in Spike Lee's second film.
