Saturn Return
When cinema first saw the light of day, it soon served to satisfy human (or more honestly: male) instincts. From 1906 to 1910, thanks to the production company Saturn-Film, business flourished with spicy films for so-called ‘gentlemen's evenings’ - those that have survived to this day are the oldest surviving examples of domestic cinematic art. Daniela Zahlner's SATURN RETURN follows the scenes and scenarios of the originals very closely and brings them to life with fresh ideas and unbridled creativity. In doing so, she not only pays homage to the over 100-year-old short films, but also caricatures their absurdities with a great sense of humour. A highly entertaining and contemporary reinterpretation that already has what it takes to become a classic.
