The southern tip of Patagonia is the starting point for his journey to 90° South. Rarely have the icy coasts and endless white landscapes of Antarctica been seen as impressively as in Jacquet's cinematic travel diary. The southernmost continent on earth exerts a magnetic attraction on him, Jacquet says at one point in the film. His fascination is palpable in every shot.

In magnificent black and white images, he shows us nature with its astonishingly diverse wildlife. Finally, Jacquet meets the emperor penguins again, who greet him like an old, long-lost friend. For him, this journey is not only a return to his place of longing, but also a return to the land of the penguins.
