On any list of the best and most influential horror films in history, you will always find the film adaptation of Ira Levin's bestseller of the same name, ROSEMARY'S BABY. As a perfectly crafted cinema of unease and a prototype of the modern horror film, its status cannot be doubted. The situation is more difficult with director Roman Polanski, who was later able to continue his film career unhindered in Europe despite being legally convicted of raping a minor.

Rosemary and Guy (Mia Farrow & John Cassavetes) are looking for a larger flat in New York City because of plans to have a baby. They find what they are looking for in an old apartment block with a long and dark history. But strange occurrences soon start to pile up, especially after Rosemary becomes pregnant as a result of her husband's rape: mysterious choirs from the flat of the intrusive neighbouring couple (Ruth Gordon & Sidney Blackmer), the (supposed?) suicide of the subtenant of the same couple, or smelly talismans on pretty necklaces. Rosemary increasingly loses control of her own body, which is gradually taken over by the neighbouring Castevets...
