Rosalinas Haus

The camera glides with gentle elegance through Erika Pluhar's first work as a film director, which was made around the same time as her departure from the theatre stage and in which she plays, of all people, an actress who has withdrawn from the stage, fame and the world. Her refuge is a splendid house on the Azorean island of Fayal, which she shares with an elderly woman. One day, she is recognised there by a younger colleague who is struggling with herself and her career path ahead of her. She hopes for understanding from the older woman and, above all, a lesson or two - but things turn out differently ... Much of the film - the place of longing Portugal, the friendship with Regina Fritsch or the acquaintance with the owner of the house, Rosalina - comes from Pluhar's own experiences, which she condenses into a meditation on art, love and life. FOR EVER is a documentary addition to this and shows her and her musical companion Antonio D'Almeida working on the album of the same name.
