Ronja – Räubertochter

FromTage Danielsson

With Hanna Zetterberg, Dan Hafström, Börge Ahlstedt

Year1984

Duration126min.

Where could a little girl like Ronja feel more at home than in a dark castle, surrounded by a band of rough-legged and cheerful robbers? And where better for Ronja to play than on the edge of the deep ravine? Perhaps in Mattis Forest, the forest named after Ronja's father, the robber chief. And although he is delighted to have such a courageous daughter, he is often not entirely comfortable with the girl's adventurous spirit. "Don't get lost!" he says when Ronja wants to go into the forest alone for the first time. "What if I do get lost?" - "Then you'll find the right path again!" - "All right then," says Ronja and doesn't rest until she has learned everything her father warns her about: the ghosts, the gray gnomes, the waterfalls. After all, you have to know what to beware of.

During one of her adventures, she meets Birk Borkasson, with whose grandfather her grandfather had already had an irreconcilable quarrel. The friendship between the two upsets their families and Mattis and Ronja, of all people, have a falling out, never to be seen again.

Perhaps everything would have ended sadly if it hadn't been for Ronja's mother Lovis. Who else could have brought the two squabblers, between whom sparks of anger are flying, back together?

A movie about adventure, about independence and about the quarrel that almost destroyed the lives of two people who love each other very much. "RONJA - RÄUBERTOCHTER" is one of the most beautiful films based on Astrid Lindgren, in which simply everything is impressive - from the little robber's daughter to the overwhelming nature shots.
