Romantik! Schubert!

In 1821, the young Franz Schubert spent the summer in St. Pölten at the invitation of Bishop Nepomuk Ritter von Dankesreiter, a great patron of the arts. Schubert composed his only opera "Alfonso and Estrella" at his summer residence in Ochsenburg. The play documentary tells the story of this unique, romantic and wild summer full of balmy nights with music, love and song. The historian and filmmaker Anita Lackenberger, who comes from St. Pölten, has repeatedly devoted herself to the historical themes of her home town.
