Roman Holiday
Princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) has had enough of the rigid protocols and endless obligations of royal life. During an official European tour, she breaks free from her gilded cage one night and finds herself alone in the streets of Rome. There, she meets American reporter Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), who quickly realizes who the young woman really is and sees an opportunity to write the story of his life.
"Roman Holiday" is more than just a romantic comedy – it is a loving ode to freedom and self-discovery. Wyler captures the enchanting alleys, historic monuments, and vibrant hustle and bustle of the Italian capital with a lightness and elegance that make the film a timeless classic. Hepburn, in her first leading role, imbues Princess Ann with a blend of childlike innocence and burgeoning rebellion, instantly endearing her to the audience.
