The well-known French-Jewish actor and stand-up comedian Gad Elmaleh wants to convert - to the Virgin Mary. Jesus is too Jewish for him, too Sephardic. So he travels to his parents' house with his kitschy statue of the Virgin Mary in his luggage and turns his midlife crisis into a quirky and controversial film that doesn't shy away from any question of faith. A priest and a nun on the one hand, a wise rabbi and a perky female rabbi on the other. Gad tries his hand at baptism, has prayer straps put on in front of the church rather by chance and a cross falls on his head during a stay in a convent. What helps?
