During a holiday on Lake Como, married Evelyne (Michèle Morgan) falls in love with the charming Rémy (Jean Marais). Her husband suspects something, but does not take the alleged flirtation seriously. Evelyne, on the other hand, travels to Paris under false pretences to meet Rémy again... A dream couple of 1950s French cinema in an elegantly staged romantic film based on a novel by Vicki Baum.
