The exchange between international cinema currents and Swedish filmmakers is evident in this program, which begins with two animated films by Pontus Hultén, one of which was made in collaboration with Robert Breer, and continues with films by Claes Söderquist and Gunvor Nelson. Söderquist (also a prominent film curator) documented his impressions of the United States in an experimental travelogue, while Gunvor Nelson portrayed her surroundings in the US and Sweden with a similar aesthetic curiosity, as her recently discovered and restored film Reunion shows.
