Redirecting the Focus: Lotte Schreiber (Kurzfilmprogramm 1)
Taking form at its word, or making it visible through a cinematic process of translation.
In her film language, Lotte Schreiber traces an architectural reality without duplicating it. She approaches structuralist housing blocks in Trieste and on the outskirts of Rome, concrete skeletons in the winter landscapes of Greece, the cabin city of the Gänsehäufel in autumn, the Wittgenstein House, exhibition spaces, municipal housing projects, and other social utopias of communal living. She enters these spaces and, through her films, simultaneously opens up new ones. Political and historical contexts are revealed in layers.
