Really Happy Someday
Z is well on his way to Broadway when he loses his voice during an audition for a musical. The testosterone is changing his voice, and Z fears that the price of his transition is losing everything he has fought for his whole life. With the support of his partner, Z finds a singing teacher who helps him come to terms with his new voice. In the meantime, he earns a living in Santi's bar, who understands Z's situation all too well. REALLY HAPPY SOMEDAY was shot with a very small team. Director J Stevens and lead actor Breton Lalama wrote it together based on their own experiences, so it's no surprise that the film stays close to Z, with the camera tenderly accompanying him and allowing us to witness his transition with the support of a queer and trans community. Simply enchanting!
