ABOUT THE FILMS
RIOT NOT DIET
Directed by Julia Fuhr Mann · Germany 2018 · 17 min
A golden summer dress in XXL, melting popsicles dripping onto the pavement.
RIOT NOT DIET imagines a queer-feminist utopia beyond bizarre BMI standards and male-dominated narratives. Instead of shame, these women* and queers unapologetically claim space. They break patriarchal structures with their fat bodies and revel in their physical presence. In an era of neoliberal self-optimization, your belly is a protest!
DIE RÄUBERINNEN (The She-Robbers)
Directed by Isa Schieche · Austria 2023 · 15 min
Three trans women meet in a countryside house to plan a robbery. The twist? To throw off suspicion, they disguise themselves as men. As a close-knit team and romantic partners, they share their lives while practicing deep voices, masculine walks, and stereotypically “male” behavior — mostly out in the garden. But they constantly confront emotional and physical limits, repeatedly struggling with the act of performing masculinity.
