Pussy Riot – A Punk Prayer

It was a worldwide scandal when three members of the feminist Russian punk band Pussy Riot were arrested a few days after a performance in a Moscow cathedral in February 2012, during which they loudly protested against the church's support for head of state Vladimir Putin. In the subsequent trial, a seven-year prison sentence was demanded for the musicians. Supported by interviews with relatives of the women, directors Mike Lerner and Maxim Pozdorovkin use original footage from the courtroom to retrace the trial and get to the bottom of the question of who should really be on trial. Three musicians or the society in which they live?
