Portrait films that also subtly reveal the relationship between the filmmaker and his subjects. Soldat approaches the men without resorting to psychological analysis: *Erwin* sketches a gay biography in Austria during the 1970s. With *Wohnhaft Erdgeschoss* and *Nullo*, things get more explicit. Heiko has a fetish for urine, which seems almost tangible in its presence, and lives it out unabashedly. *Nullo*, on the other hand, portrays a confident naked man who has independently removed his penis and testicles, speaking with remarkable candor—not only about this act.
