Poison

Three intertwined stories based on motifs from novels by Jean Genet; Hero: a boy who is mistreated at home and teased at school shoots his father, jumps out of the window and flies away. Horror: A scientist accidentally ingests the ‘human sexuality elixir’ he has distilled and triggers an epidemic of leprous sex offenders. Homo: A thief in prison encounters a fellow he remembers from reform school, and memories of rituals of humiliation turn into a violent present. Three stylistic repertoires: Hero looks like a television video report from sensationalist private television; Horror invokes the spirit of a science fiction B-picture in black and white; Homo ponders melodrama and pastoral in pastel colours.
