Písničkář, který nezemřel
In order to research the life of his famous father Karel Hašler, whom he never met himself, his son Thomas travels from Baltimore to his Czech homeland. He receives support from the writer Arnošt Lustig, who is researching his father's life story himself. During his lifetime, Hašler was considered one of the most important artists in his country, who first turned against the monarchy and later against the traitors of democracy with revolutionary songs and also celebrated great success as a film music composer and actor - until he was arrested by the Gestapo in 1941 and murdered in the Mauthausen concentration camp. The film shows him as a central figure in the Czech history of the 20th century and endeavours to preserve the legacy of this immortal ballad composer.
