The bizarre psychedelic avant-garde of an Austrian by choice: Penelope Georgiou, born in Thessaloniki in 1949, evacuated to the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna in 1970, where she studied acting for two years. PETUNIA is her masterpiece of audience provocation, deliberately boundary-pushing and humorous art cinema like a children's hour running amok on LSD. A childishly skilful, but by no means youth-friendly evening. (Paul Poet)
