Valentin Haase is a happily employed advertising graphic designer at the Bensberg chocolate factory. He neither smokes nor drinks, is modest, and a thoroughly respectable bachelor. For this reason, his boss, Director Bensberg, assigns him the task of picking up the daughter of corporate magnate Schöner at the airport and showing her around Vienna.
Valentin fails to find the heiress and millionaire’s daughter at the airport, but instead instantly falls in love with another young woman who is unjustly accused of theft—unaware that she is, in fact, the very person he was supposed to meet. The charming young lady introduces herself as Babs and claims to be looking for a job.
Valentin repeatedly discovers valuable and expensive luxury items in her possession, leading him to believe that his fiancée must be prone to kleptomania. His friend, hotel detective Gustav Notnagel, further amplifies the confusion of mistaken identities.
