PEER

In accidents, severe storms, or other emergency situations, help is often just a phone call away. Austria's emergency responders are on call 24/7 for all of us. But who takes care of those who help us? Who supports the helpers when they themselves become victims of their missions?

The documentary film "PEER – WHO HELPS THE HELPERS?" is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of the psychological burdens and their consequences that emergency responders face daily in their often voluntary work. Through a series of interviews with experienced emergency personnel, their firsthand experiences are shared and made accessible to a wide audience. Their stories are complemented by the expertise of knowledgeable experts. Special emphasis is placed on the role of so-called "peers," who make a crucial contribution to supporting emergency responders after potentially traumatic incidents.
