Paprika
Our young film club Kino & Krawall has selected an anime classic for the March edition. PAPRIKA will be shown on Thursday, 27 March at 20:15
So you can look forward to a great Thursday evening at the cinema!
PAPRIKA, the psychedelic stroke of genius by anime legend Satoshi Kon, known for the anime thriller PERFECT BLUE, takes us on a mysterious odyssey between reality and dream.
Satoshi Kon's sci-fi thriller is one of the main sources of inspiration for Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION!
Dr Atsuko Chiba works as a scientist during the day, but at night she becomes a dream detective as ‘Paprika’. Atsuko and her colleagues are working on a device called the DC Mini, which allows therapists to enter their patients' dreams. When the prototype is stolen, chaos breaks out. Whoever controls the DC Mini can easily drive people insane. Will Paprika prevent her invention from becoming a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands?
PAPRIKA is film noir, science fiction and a mind-expanding film trip all in one, impressively demonstrating how limitless the possibilities of anime are.
