A tough yet sensitive drama in which Polish veteran star Eryk Lubos plays a robust, empathetic role. The story revolves around a single lorry driver whose child is looked after by a Ukrainian babysitter while he is away. When she suddenly passes away, our hero, together with his child and the granddaughter of the deceased babysitter, embarks on a journey to her family's home country. Winner of the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Warsaw Film Festival, this is an endearing and mischievous film that succeeds in telling an intimate story about ordinary people in the midst of socio-economic upheaval (in a part of the world that will soon be traumatised by war).
