Pamfir

Pamfir, a former smuggler and now an laborer in Poland, returns to western Ukraine. He wants to spend the annual carnival in the village and, above all, be with his wife and son Nazar again. But the teenager gets into trouble and the father is forced to pay off his son's debts. Pamfir reactivates old contacts and accepts one last job. Little does he know that he is entering a world where everything can be smuggled, except the good stuff.

With his feature film debut, Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk created an exciting mix of thriller, drama and western, in which the director deals with the identity of Ukraine, which hovers between a post-Soviet past and a European future.
