Paddington

Bear Paddington grew up deep in the Peruvian jungle with Aunt Lucy. As she once had the opportunity to meet an English adventurer, she brought up her protégé in a very unconventional way: she taught him to make jam, listen to the BBC World Service and raved about an exciting life in London. When an earthquake destroys their home, Lucy realises the time is right to give Paddington a better life and smuggles him onto a ship bound for London. Assuming that all strangers will treat Paddington with courtesy during his journey, she simply hangs a sign on him saying "Please look after this bear. Thank you!". In London, Paddington is taken in by a nice family, but the little bear soon realises that city life might be too much for him - especially as a vicious taxidermist is also after him...
