Once Upon a Time in a Forest
ONCE UPON A TIME IN A FOREST takes us to the dreamlike forests of Finland with their ancient trees and crystal-clear lakes. But this idyll is threatened by the consumption of wood for the paper industry.
The film interweaves the beauty of nature with the efforts of Finnish activists - above all 22-year-old Ida - to preserve this enchanting natural environment. The breathtaking images captivate the viewer just as much as the constellation of conflicts within the family and with the timber industry.
The film gives hope and is an ode to nature!
ONCE UPON A TIME IN A FOREST was honoured with the Golden Dove, the audience award, at Dok-Leipzig 2024.
With the kind support of the Finnish Embassy.
