On The Go
Milagros wants to get pregnant, but shies away from the anonymity of artificial insemination. She sets off for Seville in her father's old Chevrolet and picks up her best friend Jonathan, whose Grindr addiction and taste in men she wants to use for her own purposes. After all, the used condoms from his sex dates could be good for something! The two buccaneers are joined by a third person: the international sex symbol La Reina de Triana. And then there's also a mysterious pursuer from Jonathan's past.
María Gisèle Royo and Julia de Castro's boisterous road movie is bursting with unexpected turns, sexual innuendo and surreal dialogue. ON THE GO is also a queer-feminist interpretation of Gonzalo García Pelayo's classic CORRIDAS DE ALEGRÍA (1982) in the age of dating apps, economic insecurity and the pursuit of eternal youth.
