Of Caravan and the Dogs

Since 2012, the Russian government has passed laws branding anyone who publicly dissents as “foreign agents” and traitors. Nevertheless, a group of independent media and activists are trying to continue their work undeterred. After the invasion, a new wave of repressive laws makes their work almost impossible. Threats, prison sentences and moral dilemmas ensue: stay or go, give up or carry on? The film accompanies them through a decisive year - before and after the outbreak of war - and shows the last courageous defenders of Russian democracy.
