Short films by students from film-training institutions in Vienna, Lower Austria, and Styria form this evening’s diverse program showcasing new talent from these schools. Between the Lines, shot in a single take, unfolds through small gestures, curious glances, and circular speech acts what is absent from the image itself. A film about the power and materiality of the moment. Infight tells the story of a boxer who resorts to unfair means during his big fight, while the mockumentary After the Happy End winks at us with a tale about an exciting day in the life of Snow White that the fairy tale has always left out. In The Butterfly Father, a young man revisits childhood memories of his father in order to accept his absence.
