Nerven Bruch Zusammen

FromArash T. Riahi

Year2012

Duration99min.

As part of this year's film series, the m:pathy film festival is presenting Arash T. Riahi's documentary film NERVEN BRUCH ZUSAMMEN.

The film is about approaching women who live outside our successful society. An Austrian woman who is desperate to reconnect with her two sons. A Belgrade-born engineer who suddenly hears voices and a Syrian woman whose husband disappears, leaving her and her child alone. Riahi gently and quietly accompanies the everyday lives of these and other women as they fight for their rights and conveys a feeling for their lives and their fate. What they have in common is being ‘locked out’ of what they once called ‘home’. They experience setbacks, but also solidarity, in the accidental community of a Viennese transitional home for women in crisis situations. The camera serves the women as a mouthpiece to the outside world. A long-term documentary film as a tribute to all the women that life has not yet been able to honour.

The m:pathy film festival has set itself the task of bringing films about education, health and social issues before the curtain and in this way offering a stage to socially (too) little recognised living environments and realities.

The screening will be followed by a film discussion with director Arash T. Riahi.
