SAYYAREYE DOZDIDE SHODEYE MAN (My Stolen Planet)

The biography of an Iranian woman, from childhood photos taken in the first weeks after the proclamation of the Islamic Republic to today's Jin Jiyan Azadî protests. For decades, filmmaker Farahnaz Sharifi has not only captured everyday resistance and particularly dramatic events, she has also built up a huge archive of film and video material from others. Her ‘planet’, consisting of recordings in a wide variety of formats, is increasingly under threat from the regime. Nevertheless, there is a glimmer of hope at the end of this often drastic stream of images.
