The semi-autobiographical drama, set over the course of a single day in Lagos during the election crisis of the early 1990s, is the first Nigerian film to be screened in the Official Selection at Cannes.
Lagos, 1993. Nigeria is gripped by a political crisis following the presidential elections. Violent unrest erupts across the country. Amid this tense atmosphere, brothers Remi and Akin travel to the capital for the first time to spend a day with their estranged father. As he tries to keep himself and his sons safe from looming political repercussions, the boys gradually begin to understand the heavy burdens their father carries in order to protect and provide for them.
