Actress Kasia Smutniak makes her directorial debut with a travel diary through her native Poland. The journey is marked by a series of walls: that of the Jewish ghetto where she grew up, and the wall erected by the government on the border with Belarus to keep out migrants coming from Syria. Some walls are insurmountable, invisible, and divide people into those who deserve compassion and those who do not. Walls made of forests and barbed wire that sometimes become open doors, as in the case of the reception of Ukrainian refugees, just 200 km below that torture forest where asylum-seeking migrants are hunted.
