Los Angeles: Betty (Naomi Watts) comes from the country and wants to become an actress in Hollywood. So it's a good thing that her rich aunt asks her to look after her aunt's house in LA. As she tries to settle into her flat, a complete stranger (Laura Harring) suddenly appears in her shower. She is completely confused and has been injured in a mysterious car accident in which she was the only survivor. Instead of calling the police, Betty more than befriends the nameless and amnesiac stranger and sets off with her in search of her true identity.
