Xavier Sr. works as a demolition labourer and dreams of buying a house for his family. They are Haitian immigrants living in Miami and deeply intertwined with their local community. Their adult son, Xavier Jr, on the other hand, is a college dropout who has had to move back home. While his parents speak Creole, Junior answers mostly in English. Still, he scours his Haitian background for material for a secret nightly stand-up routine. An affectionate portrait of a community slowly being eaten away by gentrification. Xavier is clearly aware of what his job really means, and Junior struggles to find a place for himself in not one, but two communities
