Most People Die on Sunday
The film won first prize in the International Competition of the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival 2024: ‘The jury was deeply impressed by this Argentinean feature film debut set in today's contemporary Jewish milieu in Buenos Aires. It is a beautifully directed, intimate family drama that deals with sexual identity, questions of life and death, loneliness and intergenerational family relationships.’ Director Iair Said plays the lead role of an insecure thirty-year-old in this emotional road movie between Italy and Argentina. It is a family film of quiet tones, in which looks and gestures often say more than dialogue. (Frank Stern)
