Molière auf dem Fahrrad
A witty and witty comedy starring Fabrice Luchini and Lambert Wilson and an original homage to Molière.
Serge Tanneur was once a celebrated acting star, but now lives in seclusion in a dilapidated house on the Île de Ré and has sworn off acting. One day, his old companion Gauthier Valence turns up at his house. Gauthier is planning a production of Molière's ‘The Misanthrope’ and wants Serge to be part of it. Although Serge is initially unyielding, he has always wanted to play the role of Alceste from this play and so he allows himself to be persuaded to rehearse together. Gradually, the reclusive Serge opens up, spends pleasurable hours with Gauthier and gets to know the beautiful Francesca. But then real life and the world of the theatre collide - friendship meets vanity and love meets betrayal. MOLIÈRE ON A BICYCLE is the new witty and sharp-tongued comedy by Philippe Le Guay (ONLY FOR PEOPLE) and a homage to the great playwright Molière. Two of France's most celebrated acting stars, Fabrice Luchini and Lambert Wilson, engage in a pointed battle of words and combine theatre and cinema in an original way.
