Metronom

In 1970s Bucharest, teenage Ana celebrates with her friends. On one hand, it's the last opportunity to see her boyfriend before he leaves the country; on the other, it's a moment of freedom in the midst of a communist dictatorship. The students write a letter to Radio Free Europe, the station that defiantly plays Western music despite the regime. Loyalties are questioned when the secret police arrive. Metronom is a feature film that provides a surprisingly intimate glimpse into life under the surveillance apparatus of the Socialist Republic of Romania.
