Menus-Plaisirs – Les Troisgros
Frederick Wiseman's documentaries have no commentary, no interviews and no information beyond what is shown. The films are given their form in an elaborate editing process.
This is also the case with MENUS-PLAISIRS - LES TROISGROS, in which Wiseman portrays the French restaurant “Troisgros”, which is run by the family of the same name and has been awarded three Michelin stars for several decades. The four-hour length of the film makes it easy to experience the amount of thought, time, personnel and skill that goes into this type of gastronomy. It's about every detail - and many sharp knives.
