Menschenfrauen

MENSCHENFRAUEN shows the relationship of the journalist Franz S. with four women, between whom he shuttles back and forth according to a precise schedule. But the women begin to see through this relationship game, in which Franz is always the winner, and break out in one way or another. The linearity of the story is repeatedly interrupted by flashbacks that provide information about the characters' past, dream sequences in which psychological deformations are expressed, and artificial stagings of the role's behavior. In these sequences, VALIE EXPORT continues the actions she developed before and alongside her films. (Claudia Preschl)
