Mensch ohne Namen
A man spends 15 years in the Soviet Union after a war injury without remembering his former life. One day the amnesia disappears and he remembers that he is Heinrich Martin, the manager of a car factory in Berlin, married with a daughter. On his return, he tries to reconnect with those who have long mourned him and then forgotten him, while from his point of view time has almost stood still. He tries to prove his identity, but his battle against the windmills of bureaucracy proves to be almost an even greater challenge. Contrary to the trends of its time, Ucicky's film also revolves around the question of what space the memory of the traumas of the First World War should and may occupy on the eve of a second.
