Megalopolis
Power, money and greed are the downfall of mankind - as a look at history and New Rome shows. Once a dazzling metropolis, today a juggernaut of corruption with the best times only recognisable in the rear-view mirror. The magnificent architecture is crumbling more and more, the downfall of New Rome seems inevitable and only a matter of time. But Caesar Catiling (Adam Driver) is not prepared to accept this. As an artist, Nobel Prize-winning inventor and visionary, he not only has a dream, but also an actual plan for how New Rome could regain its former strength. Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito) is not at all happy with this. Change and progress would tarnish his throne. However, he wants to hold on to the status quo, i.e. his power and wealth, at all costs. But his daughter Julia (Nathalie Emmanuel), of all people, seems to be standing by Caesar's side as his lover. A bitter battle for power, the future and love ensues...
