On a sleepy island, some pensioners have made themselves suspicious. The strange behaviour of the former partisans begins at the funeral of one of their war comrades. Rumour has it that they saw a ghost in the cemetery. And not just any ghost ... Vinko Brešan strikes a chord with audiences in his home country with this turbulent and wickedly funny comedy. In his plot, he plays on the nostalgic longing of all today's losers for the former leading figure, who builds up and rubs up against anti-social conditions, and uses the example of the mayor's tourist endeavours to mock both manifestations from the socialist era and modern speculation with the set pieces of the past, driven by greed for profit. As with the Sveraks, father and son form a successful artistic duo in the Brešan family. Father Ivo, who had already written scripts for Krsto Papić in the 1970s, wrote the script for his son, who directed the film.
