A family is given a summer house in Stockholm's idyllic archipelago for a week. Soon, the two daughters indulge in lush colour fantasies of growing up, and the playful exploration of identity and family dynamics becomes a kaleidoscopic, almost psychedelic frenzy. Månen är en grön ost is a special rarity in Zetterling's oeuvre, experimental, poetic and absurd in a fascinatingly lawless way. The Strongest is Zetterling's contribution to Visions of Eight, an episodic film about the 1972 Olympics in Munich. A precisely observed and overwhelmingly edited miniature about the strongest of all athletes, weightlifters, by a director who declares right at the beginning: ‘I'm not interested in sport, but I am interested in passion.’ (T.W.)
