Winter 2013/14: almost ten years after the Orange Revolution, people in Ukraine once again protest against their corrupt government and in favor of a turn toward the West. As the police fail to contain the unrest, street battles erupt and a spiral of violence begins. Loznitsa assembles the mass footage of the protest in an impressive and uncompromising manner, capturing the birth of a new consciousness whose echoes are still felt today.
