Off the coast of California lies a barren island where the government abandons criminals sentenced to death and leaves them to their fate. Women are massively outnumbered here and are put under pressure by their fellow inmates - nevertheless, they form a rebel squad with a few men to put a stop to Bobby, who acts as a sadistic ruler ... Stephanie Rothman succeeds like no other filmmaker in incorporating a maximum of subversive ideas into her commissioned works and in this way appropriating material that she actually hates.
