While her BLOND AMBITION tour explodes in front of the camera, the Queen of Pop reveals herself behind the scenes as the strategic conductor of her image: controlling, vulnerable, provocative. Intimacy becomes a pose and openness a calculated gesture. ‘Express Yourself!’ The film tackles questions of sexuality, the body, desire and self-determination without mincing words. For a long time, no one could hold a candle to her when it came to exposing prudery and patriarchy.
