Don't be misled by the frivolous title, because Hiroshi Mukai's film is anything but funny. It tells the story of a young woman who is denied social advancement out of her run-down suburb – on the contrary: because she always ends up with the wrong men, she is left with nothing in the end. Strong stuff, captured in perfectly framed, brutal Cinemascope images, more black than white.
