The demand that entertainment such as wrestling should be apolitical is widespread among right-wingers. The fact that this demand is itself political, because it always presupposes tacit acceptance of the prevailing order, and that being apolitical only works if you yourself have no problems, is a relatively new mindset in wrestling. But it is an attitude that has been gaining traction in recent years.
