L’Ombra Di Caravaggio

Italy 1610: Michelangelo Merisi, better known as Caravaggio, defies Catholic Church regulations dictating how religious subjects should be depicted. When Pope Paul V learns that he is depicting prostitutes, thieves and vagabonds in his works, he orders Vatican intelligence to investigate whether Caravaggio should be granted the clemency he has been asking for since he was sentenced to death for murder. The investigator begins his research, which leads him to discover the contradictory vices and virtues of the artist whose life - or death - is in his hands.
